F.A.Q.
- What is the weird cover of the first CD all about?
A failed attempt at humor :-) It is supposed to be a Rorschach-ish collage of the band members faces in the shape of a butterfly with a parody of The Silence of the Lamb background. The head of the butterfly is Todd with drumstick antennae, the top of the wings are a psychedelicized image of Gregg's face and the bottom of the wings are an image of James Walker's face. Humor (often gonzo and dark) are a major ingredient in Slychosis.
- What is the basis for "Flag of Dimbu"?
Although it wound up being a sonic montage about a mystical kingdom, the title is an acronym for . . . For the majority of reviewers, we have truly respected their constructive comments and objective feedback which continues to help us improve. Of course there are a few mean-spirited reviewers who just wish to iron out their own beefs about the obvious limitations inherent in indie music and whatever their agenda may be. Probably the most humorous aspects of reviews are that some reviewers obviously piggyback off the elements of the previous reviews as is if they are more concerned with conformity and what the other reviewers' opinions are of them. Then there are the old outdated stereotyped Mississippi bashing snippets. I can assure you that all bandmembers were wearing clean overalls at the last session and I finally bought a pair of shoes. The objective and professional reviewers are quite apparent in that their appraisals are truly their own. The consistencies across these reviewers provide helpful feedback for artists. |
